Silver Hares News January 17, 2026

A  sunny Blue Bird Sky, no winds and ideal trail conditions, fast firm well groomed skate pad and good classic tracks. Outside the leader group most Silver Hares may not be aware that very often Pilot Mike and Richard Marks will have already skied the trails to give a real time trail condition report at our leader briefing before we go out to meet you all

We were around 40- 50 skiers gathered for our initial pre-ski 10 am briefing with a handful already on the trail sporting Silver Hares Kits. Our ski was followed by a strong turnout at Après ski lunch with 40 Hares happily socializing. An interesting and not unusual happening is that we regularly have people joining our group for lunch who for one reason or another didn’t ski with us that day or even ski with us at all, just friends of friends, all are welcome Emoji

After a few hours at home to get cleaned up, Cyn and I joined around 30 Silver Hares  at the NATC for our dance lesson. Instructors Jens and Heather from City Dance studio were ably assisted by our own Laurie and Ken Lyle.  A wonderful and sometimes comical time was had by all with much laughter.

Bingo Night fast approaching February 9th 6pm Black Pine

We are approaching 80 people signed up. Due to the popularity of the event and in particular the huge success of the music round we will start with the music round as well as add another to finish the evening.

Please please please, if you are planning a meal as many of us are do come early to order and eat . We do not want to overwhelm the kitchen with 80 orders coming in at once nor be in the middle of dinner when the Bingo starts.

Many have already sent the $25 and many not yet. Please do so now or soon. Caresse ( Bingo Babe) has to go out and purchase our prizes and she will need time to do so, she is asking for 2 weeks lead time to shop so monies need to be in by the 25th this month. If you are not aware how the monies are spent: $5 goes to the ” Play Forever Foundation ” at SilverStar the same foundation that contributed $1000 to the fund sponsoring Madeleine Wilkie. Of the remaining $20 Caresse spends 80% on prizes and as always Silver Hares keep $0.
