Silver Hares News March 7, 2026
Well it was bound to happen at some point. We have had 12 skis together this season with good to excellent conditions. Yesterday was first time this season where the snow was soooooo slow and it was hard work skiing the trail. And yet all Silver Hares were smiling and glad they came out to ski!
In spite of the uncooperative snow about 50 Silver Hares turned out for our ski together with 30 joining in for lunch.
There are 3 more Saturday gatherings before we end this season, our last ski is on March 28th. We, the leadership group, look forward to having as many of you that are able join us these last 3 ski sessions. It will be somewhere around 7-8 months before we meet again as Silver Hares and that is a long while ,especially in today’s world where things seem to be changing so quickly.
CHOCOLATE!!
The Silver Hares hosted our 4th Chocolate making class, once again successful. 12 new chocolatiers taking home their creations, smooth, melt in your mouth and delicious chocolate. Most all the participants were surprised how easy and fast the chocolate making process is.. Instructor, Chocolate John, made sure everyone paid close attention throughout the process to ensure a successful outcome for everyone.
WRAP UP DINNER — Don’t miss it!!
We have 74 Silver Hares signed up for this evening, Thursday March 19, and would love to add to this number. Please let me know if you plan to attend but not yet done so.
We meet at the Black Pine and start dinner about 5:30, you may come earlier if you like to eat or just socialize. You will all order from the menu and be responsible for your own tab.
The plan is to eat first and then a short recap of our season by the numbers.
For the first time we will present 3 well deserved awards followed by recognition of volunteer Leaders. There will be an opportunity if anyone wishes to say something to the group, please let me know ahead of time if you’d like to do that.
I anticipate we should be done around 7:30ish, of course you are invited to stay as long as you like.
Congratulations Madeleine Wilkie! Check out this neat little CBC article
