This was our 4th regular session of the season. 40 Silver Hares were greeted by overcast skies, zero temps and no winds. The Classic tracks were some filled from the light snow fall during the night. The skate pad a skiff of an inch or so fresh powder on top of a firm base. Skiing was good!
The ski with my group had some unscheduled entertainment with yours truly trying an acrobatic trick. The trick: an end over end ( Pitch Pole in sailing terms) with a nice bit of airtime at 36.2 k per hour. A broken pole, unhappy ribs a cranky shoulder plus a few other bumps the result. Not sure what score I achieved as the judges, Claudio, Cyndy etc. did not rate the move though they were amazed. Apparently, I’m not ready for the Cortina Winter Olympics trick xc skiing comp yet, oh well I’ll keep working on it.
